The reverse displays classic spur marks and a square underglaze blue 'Fuku' (Good Fortune) mark within a double border.

Samurai commanders once directed armies using rigid fans called gunbai, symbols of leadership and divine strategy. Here, those legendary fans carry dragon spirits across auspicious Edo-period symbols of wealth and fortune.
Maker / Origin
Arita in Hizen Province was the historic heart of Japanese porcelain manufacturing, producing revered Imari and Nabeshima wares since the early 17th century. The 'Fuku' (fortune) mark was famously popularized on early Kutani and Arita wares, widely used by skilled regional workshops to bestow auspicious blessings upon the household.
