Story
Stoke-on-Trent was the world's pottery capital for centuries. This saucer was born from a 1980s desire to return to 'honest' materials, moving away from delicate bone china toward heavy, speckled stoneware that felt handmade.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1795, Churchill China is one of the few historic British potteries still operating in the heart of the Potteries district. They became world-renowned for their 'Stonecast' range, which was designed to withstand the high-intensity environment of professional kitchens while looking like artisan pottery.
Condition & Value
The glaze appears bright with no visible crazing or heavy utensil marks. The backstamp is crisp and centered. Excellent condition for a utilitarian piece helps maintain its value as a replacement item. Individual saucers from this range are common and usually sell as replacement pieces.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
Best Venue
Specialty auction or a focused dealer with buyers already in this lane.
Signed example with light edge wear and original frame.
Comparable format with stronger provenance and cleaner surface.
Smaller related piece with visible craquelure and trimmed margins.
Period match with softer condition and weaker subject matter.
Close market lane comp with similar material and presentation.
