Overview
A stunning example of 'Zuo Tai' (filigree) craftsmanship, this owl features intricate hand-woven metal wirework accented with vibrant cloisonné enamel.
Story
In the 1960s and 70s, Chinese master craftsmen in state-run workshops began producing these incredibly detailed 'curios' to showcase traditional techniques to the West.
Maker / Origin
These pieces were typically produced in the Beijing Enamel Factory or similar specialized workshops that preserved the 'Eight Great Handicrafts of Yanjing.'
Condition & Value
The filigree appears remarkably intact with no obvious crushed sections, which is rare for such a delicate piece. There is a natural aged patina on the metal and the wooden base shows minor shelf wear. Excellent preservation of the enamel and stones.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
