Overview
An ornate cross pendant crafted in 18-karat white gold, channel-set with six step-cut natural emeralds and centered by a round brilliant diamond. The mounting features extensive engraved foliate/scroll detailing along the borders and sides, suspended from an Italian 18K white gold wheat/rope link chain.
Story
Mined in the lush mountains of Boyacá, Colombia, these vibrant green emeralds were hand-matched and set into an intricately engraved Italian 18K white gold cross.
Maker / Origin
The chain bears the official Italian hallmark '750' (designating 18-karat gold) alongside 'ITALY', pointing to the renowned goldsmithing centers of Vicenza or Arezzo. Italian workshops in the mid-to-late 20th century were celebrated worldwide for marrying classical Renaissance engraving motifs with fine gemstone setting.
Condition & Value
Very good vintage condition. Natural inclusions ('jardin') are visible within the emeralds, typical of natural Colombian beryl. Clasp and bail are intact and functional. Excellent preservation helps retain top value.
