Overview
A dynamic cut crystal vanity scent bottle crafted with an intentional canted resting facet, allowing the vessel to recline elegantly at an angle. It features traditional crisscross diamond cuts and thumbprint arches topped with a multi-faceted pointed spire stopper.
Story
Postwar European glasshouses reinvented classic boudoir crystal with cheeky mid-century physics. By cutting a slanted flat base, glass cutters turned a heavy perfume flacon into a gravity-defying tabletop conversation piece.
Maker / Origin
While often unsigned or bearing paper foil labels that wash away over time, tilted crystal decanters and vanity bottles were popularized by Bohemian glassmakers like Bohemia Crystal as well as West German houses like Nachtmann and Hofbauer. These workshops blended centuries of Bavarian and Bohemian gem-cutting techniques with modern decorative forms.
Condition & Value
Appears to be in very good vintage condition with intact stopper dauber/peg, clean ground neck joint, and sharp facet edges with no major chips or flea bites visible. Pristine condition with original stopper keeps value at the solid mid-market tier.
