Maker / Origin

Founded by Elias Ingraham in 1831, the E. Ingraham Company became legendary for its innovative case designs and mass-production techniques. Elias himself was a pioneer in clock case design, securing numerous patents that helped define the visual landscape of American mantel and shelf clocks throughout the 19th century.

Condition & Value

The wood case shows minor surface wear and a lovely aged patina consistent with its century-plus history. The gilded stenciling on the glass door is remarkably intact, which is rare. There is some light discoloration on the paper dial face, but the hands and brass bezel appear original and well-preserved.
