Story
Introduced in 1936, this design brought the romance of European courts to American dining rooms during the Great Depression. Its sweeping, flame-like central plume was engineered to catch and multiply the flickering glow of candlelight.
Maker / Origin
Founded in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1887 before moving to Moundsville, West Virginia, the Fostoria Glass Company became the largest maker of handmade glassware in the United States. They were famous for their 'Elegant Glass'—high-quality, hand-pressed, and etched pieces that bridged the gap between everyday utility and luxury crystal.
