John Browning was one of the most prolific firearm inventors in history, holding 128 patents. The Auto-5 design was so rugged and reliable that it remained in continuous production for nearly 100 years, produced primarily by Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium, and later by Miroku in Japan, alongside licensed variants like the Remington Model 11.
