Overview
A prestigious grouping of hand-cut lead crystal stemware featuring the iconic 'Lismore' pattern alongside the 'Millennium Series' champagne flutes. These pieces represent the pinnacle of Irish glassmaking, characterized by deep wedge cuts and a brilliant refractive index that creates a 'fire' within the glass.
Story
The Lismore pattern was born in 1952, inspired by the gothic architecture of Lismore Castle in County Waterford. It became the most popular crystal pattern in history, gracing state dinners and family celebrations alike.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1783 by George and William Penrose, Waterford became synonymous with the finest crystal in the world. After a long hiatus, the factory was revived in 1947 by Karel Bacik and Miroslav Havel, who brought Bohemian glassmaking secrets to Ireland to create the modern legend we see today.
Condition & Value
The crystal appears bright with no visible clouding or 'sickness.' The presence of the original seahorse foil sticker suggests light use or careful preservation. Excellent condition typically maintains 80-90% of secondary market retail value.
