Overview
A classic Swiss-made mechanical timepiece featuring the 'Visodate' complication, which integrated a date window into the dial.
Story
The year 1953 marked Tissot's centenary, and to celebrate, they launched the Visodate—a revolutionary line that made the date function a standard feature of the modern watch.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Tissot is a cornerstone of the Swiss watchmaking industry based in Le Locle.
Condition & Value
The acrylic crystal shows several surface scratches and 'crazing' consistent with age, though these can often be polished out. There is some visible wear to the plating on the lugs and minor spotting on the dial near the 6 o'clock position. The lizard-grain strap appears to be a later replacement.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
