Overview
An elegant porcelain charger decorated in the classic 'famille rose' (fencai) palette, featuring a winding peach branch laden with ripe fruit, blossoms, and iron-red bats. The design beautifully wraps from the exterior rim onto the interior face, a sophisticated layout technique known as 'over-the-wall' (guozhi).
Story
Peaches and bats carry a secret message in Chinese art. Together, five bats and nine peaches represent 'fufu shuangquan'—a wish for both supreme good fortune and ultimate longevity.
Maker / Origin
While bearing a six-character Yongzheng reign mark (1723–1735) on the base, this piece is a high-quality 20th-century revival. Jingdezhen workshops have spent centuries perfecting the art of recreating imperial masterpieces, keeping ancient court techniques alive for modern collectors.
Condition & Value
The charger appears to be in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or hairline fractures. The enamel colors remain vibrant with minimal surface scratching. Excellent condition helps maintain its value as a premium display piece. Value is driven by the decorative quality and hand-painted execution.
