Overview
A remarkable trio of vintage solid-state pinball machines representing the evolution of arcade gaming from the late disco era to the cinematic licensing boom of the 1990s. This lineup features Williams' 1979 sci-fi themed 'Tri Zone', Data East's highly collectible 1992 'Star Wars' machine, and Sega's 1995 'Batman Forever' featuring its signature green-glowing wireform ramps.
Story
In 1992, Data East designer John Borg launched the Star Wars pinball machine, capturing a generation's nostalgia just as the franchise was reawakening. It became an instant arcade sensation, featuring a moving R2-D2 on the playfield and the iconic Death Star that opens to swallow pinballs. This trio represents the peak era of physical arcade engineering before home consoles dominated the entertainment landscape.
Maker / Origin
Data East, Sega Pinball, and Williams Electronics were the titans of the silverball universe. Williams was legendary for its innovative playfield flow and solid-state reliability, while Data East (later acquired by Sega in 1994) pioneered the aggressive use of massive pop-culture licenses, heavy bass sound systems, and theatrical dot-matrix display animations that defined 1990s arcade culture.
Condition & Value
The machines appear to be in complete cosmetic condition with original backglass art and cabinet decals intact. There is typical minor wear on the cabinet corners, and the playfields show some dust accumulation from storage.
