Story
In the early 1960s, the dashboard was a driver's command center, and this radio was the gateway to the airwaves. It soundtracked the great American road trip during the birth of rock 'n' roll. This very unit likely hummed with the sounds of Motown and surf rock as it cruised down newly built interstate highways.
Maker / Origin
The radio was manufactured by Delco Radio, a division of General Motors established in Kokomo, Indiana. Delco was a pioneer in automotive electronics, famous for engineering rugged, high-quality vacuum tube and early transistorized radios that could withstand the extreme vibrations and temperatures of a moving vehicle.
