Story
The year 1980 marked a radical shift for the Thunderbird as Ford moved the legendary nameplate to the smaller 'Fox' platform to combat the fuel crisis.
Maker / Origin
Ford's design team in the late 70s and early 80s was led by visionaries like Jack Telnack, who were transitioning the American aesthetic from the heavy 'Bunkie Knudsen' era to the 'Aero' look.
Condition & Value
The chrome bezel shows some light surface swirling and minor pitting consistent with age, but the central emblem and lens appear remarkably clear and intact. The mounting tabs on the reverse are present, which is critical for functionality. Excellent survivor condition.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
