Overview
A charming set of five vintage French postcards featuring vibrant, hand-colored or early color-printed photographic studies of botanical specimens. Each card features a deckled edge and is marked on the reverse by the Parisian publisher Editions P.I., complete with their distinctive stylized logo.
Story
Post-WWII Paris saw a massive resurgence in romantic paper ephemera as the city reclaimed its title as the capital of fashion and art. These cards captured the simple, comforting beauty of nature for a world recovering from years of conflict.
Maker / Origin
Editions P.I. was a notable mid-century French publisher specializing in high-quality postcards, often featuring glamorous starlets, fashion illustrations, and artistic botanical photography. Their distinctive logo, featuring a stylized profile of a face integrated into the letter 'P', became a hallmark of quality Parisian souvenir ephemera.
Condition & Value
The postcards are in very good vintage condition with clean, unwritten backs. There is minor age-related toning on the reverse paper and very slight corner wear, which is expected and does not significantly detract from their value.
