Story
In 1950, a devastating flood and fire destroyed the Hull factory, making pieces from this era highly symbolic of resilience. This ewer, marked H-34, represents the company's triumphant post-war return to production.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1905 by Addis Emmet Hull, the Hull Pottery Company initially succeeded with utilitarian stoneware before transitioning to highly collectible art pottery. They became famous for their delicate pastel glazes and floral lines, which decorated millions of American homes during the mid-20th century.
Condition & Value
The ewer appears to be in good vintage condition with no visible cracks or major chips on the delicate spout or handle. There is some expected shelf wear and minor staining on the unglazed foot ring. Excellent condition with no crazing or flea bites commands the higher end of the range.
