Overview
This is a highly collectible, original embossed aluminum fender from a mid-century Tee-Nee boat trailer, featuring the iconic stylized 'TEE NEE' branding. Designed with integrated angled step-pads, this piece represents the peak of post-WWII American leisure design when boat trailers were styled with the same aerodynamic optimism as the cars towing them.
Story
In 1939, Youngstown builder Harold Grace revolutionized family recreation by inventing the first modern boat trailer. Post-war families used these distinctive yellow-and-black trailers to haul their sleek wooden Chris-Crafts to newly created reservoirs.
Maker / Origin
The Tee-Nee Trailer Company of Youngstown, Ohio, was the pioneer of the consumer boat trailer industry. Known for their signature bright yellow paint, teardrop fenders, and robust steel construction, Tee-Nee trailers became an American highway icon during the 1950s boating boom.
Condition & Value
The aluminum shows a beautiful, soft natural patina with minor surface scuffs and light oxidation consistent with age. There are no major dents, tears, or extra drilled holes, which greatly preserves its value. Original mounting hardware is not present.
