Story
In 1947, the David White Company revolutionized home entertainment by introducing the Stereo Realist system. Suddenly, everyday families could capture and view their vacations in startling, realistic 3D depth. This viewer was the magic window that brought those memories to life in living rooms across post-war America.
Maker / Origin
The David White Company, originally founded in 1911 to make precision surveying instruments, took a dramatic turn when employee Seton Rochwite designed a 3D camera system. The company marketed the 'Stereo Realist' so successfully that it became the definitive format of the 3D boom. Even Hollywood stars like Harold Lloyd and Humphrey Bogart became avid collectors and promoters of the system.
Condition & Value
The viewer body appears structurally sound with no visible cracks in the Bakelite. The original box shows some typical edge wear, corner scuffing, and minor tape residue, but retains its structural integrity and clear graphics.
