In 1930, Kawase Hasui captured the poetic quiet of rural Japan under a luminous moon. While Tokyo rapidly modernized, Hasui preserved the soul and solitude of traditional landscapes in rich indigo tones.
Maker / Origin
Kawase Hasui (1883–1957) was the quintessential master of the Shin-hanga ('New Prints') movement. Partnering with visionary publisher Watanabe Shōzaburō, Hasui traveled extensively across Japan, translating atmospheric weather, moonlight, and historic architecture into woodblock prints that earned him Living National Treasure status.

Appears to be in very good condition with strong, rich colors and no visible fading. Margins are present and intact with minor edge handling wear and a small top margin tab remnant; no obvious foxing or mat burn. Excellent color depth preserves the print's full aesthetic and commercial value.
