Story
In 1964, Oiva Toikka was frustrated by unsightly mold seams on his pressed glass. He solved the problem by covering the entire surface with glass 'dewdrops,' creating a design that became a global symbol of Finnish modernism.
Maker / Origin
Oiva Toikka was one of the most legendary figures in Finnish glass, famous for his imaginative 'Birds by Toikka' collection. His work for Iittala helped define the Scandinavian aesthetic: functional, nature-inspired, and technically brilliant.
Condition & Value
The glass appears clear with no visible chips to the delicate beads. The mold seams are well-integrated into the pattern. Excellent condition maintains the higher end of the range. Value depends on size and whether it is a vintage 1960s/70s production or a modern reissue. Moss green is a popular color, but single bowls are common.
