Overview
An exquisite four-piece set of Tiffany & Co. sterling silver vanity canisters and bottles, featuring dense, hand-chased floral repoussé scrollwork. These vessels were designed to hold perfumes, powders, and grooming essentials for a wealthy traveler's vanity case.
Story
During the Gilded Age, elite travelers never left home without their custom vanity cases. These four sterling silver bottles, marked with the 'M' director's stamp, were crafted in New York to bring Fifth Avenue luxury to the railways of Europe.
Maker / Origin
Under the artistic direction of Charles L. Tiffany and later his son Louis Comfort Tiffany, the firm became America's premier silversmith. The 'M' mark on the base indicates these were produced under the directorship of Charles T. Cook between 1891 and 1902, a golden era of American silver craftsmanship.
Condition & Value
The bottles show minor surface wear, light tarnishing, and small scuffs on the flat bases consistent with age. There are no major dents or deep scratches visible, and the repoussé work remains crisp. Excellent preservation of the maker's marks on the undersides.
