Sixteenth-century Ottoman court potters developed this brilliant turquoise and cobalt floral style. Modern artisans in Kütahya and Jerusalem keep the centuries-old underglaze technique alive by painting each petal freehand.

Maker / Origin

While Iznik was the royal ceramic center of the Ottoman Empire, Kütahya has maintained an unbroken ceramic tradition since the 14th century, heavily influenced by Armenian master potters. In the 20th century, both Kütahya workshops and Armenian studios in Jerusalem revived these classical 16th-century patterns for collectors and travelers.

Condition & Value

The vase appears in very good vintage condition with intact glaze and no visible major cracks or large chips to the rim or foot in the photographs. Minor expected surface wear around the unglazed foot ring. Good preservation supports the higher end of the value range.
