Overview
A striking seven-piece cordial set featuring deep cobalt blue glass bowls accented with intricate 24k gold filigree and a clear, hand-pulled baluster stem. This style of 'Bohemian' glass is world-renowned for its high mineral content, which allows for incredible clarity and deep, saturated colors.
Story
Post-war Czechoslovakia became the global epicenter for luxury glass, blending centuries of royal craftsmanship with mid-century flair. These sets were the height of hospitality, designed for the ritual of after-dinner liqueurs.
Maker / Origin
While many workshops in the Nový Bor region produced this style, the quality of the gilding suggests a maker following the Moser or Egermann tradition. These artisans survived the transition from private studios to state-run collectives, maintaining a standard of excellence that defined European luxury for decades.
Condition & Value
The gilding on the rim appears remarkably intact in the photo, which is rare as gold leaf often wears away with washing. Any chips to the delicate stems or loss of the decanter's stopper would significantly reduce the value. Value is driven by the presence of the full set (6 glasses and decanter).
