Story
North Carolina's furniture heartland saw a dramatic shift in the late 1960s as homeowners traded the slim legs of Mid-Century Modernism for the 'Old World' weight of the Mediterranean style.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1903 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Drexel Furniture Company grew from a small local mill into a titan of American manufacturing.
Condition & Value
The piece appears to be in very good vintage condition with the original Drexel mark clearly visible. There is some expected minor scuffing along the base and edges, but the writing surface and interior cubbies look well-preserved.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
