Overview
These eight matching spoons turn everyday tableware into miniature sculpture: each pointed terminal carries a crowned figure with palms joined in greeting. The warm yellow metal appears consistent with brass or bronze, with dark, riveted handle inserts and clearly readable “SIAM” lettering.
Story
Siam became Thailand in 1939, briefly returning to its old name in 1945–49. Yet “Siam” lived on in souvenir branding: these spoons carry a country's older identity right to the dining table.
Maker / Origin
The maker is unidentified, but these fit a Thai souvenir-metalwork tradition that translated local imagery into useful objects for travelers. Repeated decorative components allowed workshops to produce coordinated sets while retaining distinctive regional character.
Condition & Value
Visible polishing scratches, wear to the dark inserts, and small greenish deposits at some metal joints suggest use and age. No obvious major losses appear in the photographs; surface wear keeps these in the ordinary used-set market.
