Overview
A charming, anthropomorphic ceramic planter shaped like a stylized bee or insect, finished in a soft, high-gloss blue glaze.
Story
During the post-war housing boom of the 1940s and 50s, American windowsills were transformed into miniature ceramic zoos. This little bee was part of a massive wave of 'planter mania' that swept through suburban homes, where every shelf needed a touch of playful nature.
Maker / Origin
Robinson-Ransbottom (RRP Co) was founded in 1900 and became one of the largest producers of stoneware and garden pottery in the United States.
Condition & Value
The piece appears to be in good vintage condition with no visible cracks or major chips. There is some minor glaze wear and typical 'crazing' (fine surface lines) consistent with age and use as a planter. Maintaining the original glossy finish without lime scale buildup from plants helps preserve the value.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
