Overview
A vibrant hand-painted tin-glazed earthenware plate featuring a central bird motif surrounded by dense floral arabesques. This piece showcases the 'Raffaellesco' style influence with a scalloped edge and the characteristic bold palette of the Umbrian region.
Story
For over 700 years, the tiny hill town of Deruta has breathed life into clay. This plate carries the 'Ricco Deruta' spirit, where local artisans transformed Renaissance frescoes into table art for the world's elite.
Maker / Origin
The Nulli workshop was one of the prominent mid-century studios in Deruta that helped revitalize Italian ceramics for the international export market. They were known for maintaining high-quality hand-painting standards during a period of increasing mass production.
Condition & Value
The front appears vibrant with no visible crazing. The back shows some oxidation from the wire hanger; these metal hangers can sometimes cause 'flea bites' on the rim if tightened too much. Overall excellent vintage condition. Deruta pottery has a very stable collector base.
