Overview
A heavy, thick-walled lead crystal vase featuring a delicate copper-wheel engraved motif of a young girl holding a bouquet.
Story
In the deep forests of Småland, Sweden, a glassworks named Orrefors—meaning 'Black Grouse Waterfall'—transformed the world's perception of crystal from heavy, cut-glass patterns to liquid-smooth works of art.
Maker / Origin
Orrefors was founded in 1898 on the site of an older ironworks, but it became a global powerhouse after the 1925 Paris Exhibition.
Condition & Value
The crystal appears bright and clear with no visible 'sick glass' or cloudiness. There is some minor surface wear consistent with age, particularly on the base. Excellent clarity in the engraving significantly maintains the value. This estimate covers the two Swedish crystal vases shown.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
