Maker / Origin

Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was one of the most transformative artists in world history, best known for 'The Great Wave off Kanagawa' and his dynamic depictions of Japanese daily life and nature. Because of his towering fame, both his direct students and later 19th-to-early-20th-century artists frequently produced paintings in his distinctive style and signature.

Condition & Value

The painted silk surface shows natural age-related toning, faint creasing, and minor darkening consistent with late 19th-century textiles.
