During the 18th century, Chinese potters adopted the Japanese 'Imari' palette of underglaze blue, iron-red, and gold to captivate European markets. This charger celebrates that global trade exchange with its delicate suspended basket design.
Maker / Origin
Craftsmen in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China, perfected the technique of combining underglaze cobalt blue firing with overglaze polychrome enamels. While bearing a six-character mark of the famous Emperor Kangxi (1662–1722), pieces like this were often created in later periods to honor the golden age of Chinese ceramic artistry.
