Overview
These are hand-painted satin glass bells featuring the 'Winter Wonderland' scenic pattern, a classic Fenton motif. The soft blue glass is decorated with snowy landscapes, often signed by the individual artist who painted them on the interior.
Story
West Virginia's Fenton factory was a family-run powerhouse for over a century. These bells were part of a massive 1980s collecting craze where hand-painted 'scenics' became prized heirlooms for holiday displays.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1905 by Frank L. Fenton, the company became the largest manufacturer of handmade colored glass in the United States. They were famous for introducing 'Iridescent' glass (Carnival glass) and remained family-operated until production ceased in 2011.
Condition & Value
The bells appear to be in good vintage condition with no visible chips to the delicate ruffled edges. The presence of thrift store stickers suggests they haven't been cleaned recently, but the glass itself looks well-preserved. Original clappers appear intact.
