Centuries after the Ming Dynasty, potters in Jingdezhen continued honoring the golden age of Chenghua porcelain by inscribing its famous mark on fine underglaze blue wares created for collectors worldwide.
Maker / Origin
While bearing the imperial mark of the Ming emperor Chenghua (r. 1464–1487), this dish was produced by 20th-century ceramic studios in Jingdezhen. Chinese potters historically used reign marks not as deceptions, but as homages to revered historical eras of exceptional ceramic art.
