Overview
A striking 17-inch Art Nouveau / Jugendstil cast pewter flagon featuring whiplash vines, oak leaves, acorns, and an unengraved escutcheon. Resting on four sculpted bracket feet and topped by an architectural finial, it exemplifies the German Secessionist decorative movement. A partial factory or model stamp ('...710') is impressed along the bottom foot rim.

Maker / Origin
At the turn of the century, German foundries like Kayserzinn, WMF, and Osiris elevated pewter (Edelzinn) from utilitarian metalware into high art. By employing prominent sculptors and patented lead-free pewter alloys, these workshops created sculptural vessels that became international hallmarks of the Jugendstil design revolution.
