Overview
This is a vintage 1/64 scale diecast metal gravity feed grain wagon finished in classic implement red. Designed with a molded plastic discharge chute door on the side and rolling rubber-like tires, it represents mid-century and modern American agricultural machinery at miniature scale.
Story
Forged in Iowa farm country during the boom of scale agricultural replicas, this little hopper wagon brought actual harvest mechanics right into kids' carpet farming setups.
Maker / Origin
Fred Ertl Sr. started casting toy tractors in his Dubuque furnace in 1945 during an aluminum strike. His basement operation blossomed into The Ertl Company in Dyersville, Iowa, which became the world's preeminent maker of officially licensed diecast farm toys.
Condition & Value
Displays honest paint wear, edge chipping along the hopper rim, and slight dust accumulation in the plastic chute crevices. The hitch, axles, and tires remain intact.
