Story
In 1975, this bowl was the vessel for a thoughtful gift delivered by hand. FTD revolutionized the 'flowers-by-wire' industry, and these heavy glass pieces were designed to be kept and reused long after the blooms faded.
Maker / Origin
FTD (Florists' Transworld Delivery) is one of the world's oldest floral wire services, founded in 1910. While they didn't make the glass themselves, they partnered with major American glass houses to create exclusive, branded utility-ware that defined the look of the American sideboard for decades.
Condition & Value
The glass appears clear with no major chips or 'flea bites' visible on the rim. Minor surface scratches on the interior bottom are common for used floral vessels. Condition is typical for its age; excellent condition maintains the higher end of the range. These are common vintage items with high survival rates.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
Best Venue
Specialty auction or a focused dealer with buyers already in this lane.
Signed example with light edge wear and original frame.
Comparable format with stronger provenance and cleaner surface.
Smaller related piece with visible craquelure and trimmed margins.
Period match with softer condition and weaker subject matter.
