Story
Max Eckardt established Shiny Brite in 1937 to replace European glass ornament imports threatened by World War II. Partnering with Corning Glass Works, he adapted lightbulb machines to mass-produce glass ornaments right in New York.

Max Eckardt, a German immigrant, founded Shiny Brite after realizing WWII blockades would cut off the supply of traditional Lauscha glass ornaments from Germany. By collaborating with Corning Glass Works in New York, Shiny Brite became the quintessential American Christmas ornament maker during the post-war boom.
