This is an electric table lamp fashioned from a classic Chinese blue and white porcelain ginger jar with a baluster form and domed lid, mounted onto a carved dark wooden base. It features traditional underglaze blue scrolling lotus and floral vine motifs beneath a flared conical fabric shade.

During the mid-to-late 20th century, ceramic workshops in Jingdezhen and export factories throughout Guangdong produced large quantities of porcelain vessels specifically designed for conversion into high-end Western interior furnishings.
