Overview
An exquisite collection of Waterford Crystal, featuring the iconic 'Lismore' pattern stemware alongside original presentation boxes and a matching votive candle holder. Renowned for its brilliant clarity and deep diamond and wedge cuts, this set represents the pinnacle of Irish luxury glassmaking.
Story
In 1952, designer Miroslav Havel created a pattern inspired by the gothic arches of Lismore Castle in County Waterford. It quickly became the most famous crystal design in the world, gracing prestigious tables globally.
Maker / Origin
Established in 1783 by brothers George and William Penrose, Waterford Crystal set out to create the finest quality crystal for drinking vessels and home beauty. Though the original factory closed in 1851, the brand was spectacularly revived in 1947 by Czech immigrant Charles Bacik and designer Miroslav Havel, who brought European master craftsmen to Ireland to rebuild the legendary industry.
Condition & Value
The crystal appears to be in excellent, sparkling condition with no visible chips, cloudiness, or flea bites. The presence of original boxes suggests they were rarely used and stored safely. Excellent condition with original packaging commands a premium in the secondary market.
