Overview
An impressive Tiffany-style table lamp featuring a multi-sided leaded glass shade decorated with stylized floral urns, green foliage, and inset glass cabochons. The lamp is distinguished by its matching, fully illuminated leaded glass base resting on cast metal claw feet, creating a warm, double-lit glow when turned on.
Story
In the late 20th century, a massive revival of Art Nouveau design brought leaded glass back into the spotlight. Homeowners craved the cozy, organic warmth of the early 1900s to counter the sleek, cold minimalism of modern design.
Maker / Origin
While inspired by Louis Comfort Tiffany's legendary New York studios (active 1878–1933), this piece is a later revival work. During the 1970s through the 1990s, several high-quality workshops reproduced these complex designs, allowing everyday collectors to experience the magic of stained glass artistry.
Condition & Value
The leaded glass shade and base appear intact with no obvious cracked panels or missing cabochons. The metal framework shows a pleasing dark patina consistent with age. Excellent working condition of both the upper and lower light sockets is required to reach the higher end of the value range.
