Overview
This is a vertical needlepoint panel, traditionally known as a 'bell pull' design, featuring a serpentine vine of stylized flowers.
Story
Long before the invention of electric intercoms, these long strips of fabric were functional tools used in grand houses to tug on a wire that rang a bell in the servants' quarters.
Maker / Origin
While the individual artist remains anonymous, they were likely part of the massive needlework boom of the 1960s and 70s led by designers like Erica Wilson.
Condition & Value
The textile appears to be in excellent condition with no visible staining or 'foxing' (brown spots). The colors remain bright, suggesting it was kept out of direct sunlight; the frame shows light vintage wear consistent with age. Excellent preservation of the fabric commands the higher end of the range.

Comparable demand stays strongest where maker, originality, and venue confidence line up. Broader examples still trade, but the range tightens quickly when provenance, condition, or selling lane fit is missing.
