In 1939, millions flocked to Flushing Meadows for the New York World's Fair. Greyhound operated specially designed open-air intramural trams to shuttle weary tourists around the expansive futuristic fairgrounds. Souvenirs like this cast-iron bus allowed visitors to take a piece of the 'World of Tomorrow' home in their pockets.
Maker / Origin
Founded in 1885 in Freeport, Illinois, the Arcade Manufacturing Company grew into one of America's premier producers of cast-iron toys. Known for their famous slogan 'They Look Like Real Things,' Arcade partnered directly with major vehicle manufacturers like Ford, Chevrolet, and Greyhound to create exact miniature replicas.
Condition & Value
