This is a beautifully turned wooden tobacco humidor featuring a warm, rich grain and a classic spherical finial on its lid. The interior is fitted with a metal lining designed to hold moisture, while the underside of the lid features an embossed aluminum disk from the Aztec Clay Moistener Company of NYC.
Story
During the golden age of pipe smoking in the 1930s, keeping tobacco fresh was a serious science. This New York-made humidor utilized a patented clay-moistening system under the lid to perfectly preserve a gentleman's private blend.

The Aztec Clay Moistener Company of New York City specialized in manufacturing humidifying elements and specialized containers for tobacco products during the early to mid-20th century. They were highly regarded for their patented clay-based moistening discs, which slowly released humidity without over-saturating the tobacco.
Condition & Value
The wooden exterior is in very good condition with minor surface scuffs and a beautiful aged patina. The interior metal lining shows typical oxidation and wear from moisture exposure, and the underside aluminum plate has some corrosion around the screw. The green felt on the base is intact but shows light wear.
