In the 1700s, German miners in the Ore Mountains turned to woodworking as the silver mines dried up. They transformed their engineering skills into 'cottage industry' art, creating these tiny symbols of spring to hang on traditional Easter bushes.

While often produced by small family workshops in towns like Seiffen, these pieces represent the 'Erzgebirgische Volkskunst' (Ore Mountain Folk Art) tradition. This region is world-renowned for its nutcrackers and smoking men, but their delicate Easter 'Ostereier' are equally prized for their cheerful, minimalist patterns.

Condition & Value
