Overview
This is a large, foliate-rimmed porcelain charger painted in rich underglaze cobalt blue, featuring a central mythical beast surrounded by lotus scrolls and stylized wave borders. The underside bears an underglaze blue six-character mark reading 'Da Ming Xuande Nian Zhi' (Made in the Xuande Reign of the Great Ming).

Ming dynasty Xuande blue-and-white is considered the pinnacle of Chinese porcelain. For centuries, kilns at Jingdezhen paid tribute by recreating these classic dragons, waves, and marks for collectors.
Maker / Origin
Jingdezhen has been the porcelain capital of the world for over a thousand years. During the 19th and 20th centuries, master potters continued to replicate celebrated early Ming masterpieces using traditional wood-fired kilns and hand-ground cobalt.
Condition & Value
The charger shows minor fritting and small flakes along the scalloped rim edge, along with light surface shelf wear on the unglazed foot rings. Overall very good decorative condition; minor rim fritting slightly softens value by roughly 10-15%.
