Overview
A classic mid-century holiday icon featuring a deep forest-green glossy glaze and multi-colored plastic 'twist' bulbs. This two-piece set consists of a tiered, needle-textured tree body resting on a distinctive 'scroll' style base that houses the internal light source.
Story
In the 1970s, these trees were the ultimate DIY labor of love. Families would spend weeks in local ceramic studios, hand-painting and glazing their own trees to create a permanent heirloom that never dropped a single needle.
Maker / Origin
The Atlantic Mold Company was a titan of the hobby ceramics industry, operating from 1946 until the early 2000s. Their 'A-64' mold became the gold standard for this design, allowing thousands of amateur artists to produce professional-looking holiday decor at home.
Condition & Value
The glaze appears vibrant and well-preserved. The tree is missing its traditional star topper, which is easily replaced but currently absent. Ensure all plastic bulbs are present and the internal wiring is safe for modern use. The absence of the star reduces the value by approximately $15–$25.
