Created exclusively as presentation gifts for the Shogun and high-ranking daimyo, Nabeshima porcelain was never sold to the public. This dish's playful design of autumn flowers and dumplings celebrates the seasonal moon-viewing festival.

Master artisans were forbidden from leaving, and flawed pieces were systematically destroyed to prevent their revolutionary techniques from being copied by rival clans. This extreme quality control resulted in some of the most flawless porcelain ever produced in human history.
