The underside features an underglaze blue inscription reading '元禄十二年' (Genroku 12th year / 1699) alongside a signature character '柿' (Kaki).

The Kakiemon lineage of Arita potters is renowned for pioneering translucent overglaze polychrome enameling on milky-white porcelain ('nigoshide'). Spanning over 15 generations, the workshop's refined asymmetry and soft color palette (persimmon red, turquoise, soft blue, and yellow) became an enduring hallmark of Japanese ceramic excellence.
