Maker / Origin
Spode was founded by Josiah Spode in Stoke-on-Trent around 1770 and became world-famous for perfecting fine bone china and underglaze transfer printing. After the Copeland family took full ownership in the 1830s, the firm operated as Copeland Spode, producing iconic tableware for royalty, nobility, and fine homes across the globe for generations.
Condition & Value
The face shows crisp color enamel with bright glaze clarity. The reverse shows clear fine line crazing typical of aged English fine earthenware. Crazing slightly impacts peak value, but overall presentation is very good. Individual plates in the Chinese Rose pattern are widely available due to high original production volumes.
