Story
Post-WWII Japan rebuilt its economy by exporting delightful, clever home goods to the West. This tray was designed specifically for the booming American mid-century cocktail culture, proudly stamped 'Alcohol Proof' so hosts could serve martinis without ruining the finish.
Maker / Origin
The 'Celebrate' brand was a registered trademark used by Japanese manufacturers during the post-war export boom. These workshops specialized in lacquerware and papier-mâché, combining traditional Japanese hand-crafting techniques with Western-market designs to create affordable, stylish homewares.
Condition & Value
The front graphic is remarkably bright and intact with minimal wear to the edges. The reverse shows some minor staining/discoloration near the bottom edge and light scuffing consistent with age and gentle use. Excellent preservation of the original stamp.
