Story
During WWII, base metals like copper and nickel were diverted to the war effort. Jewelry makers pivoted to sterling silver, creating a golden age of 'Vermeil' pieces that felt incredibly luxurious despite wartime rations.
Maker / Origin
Coro was the titan of American costume jewelry, but their 'Coro Craft' line was the premium tier. Under the direction of Adolph Katz, they produced some of the most sculptural and sought-after designs of the 20th century.
Condition & Value
The set shows a beautiful aged patina with some wear to the gold wash on the high points of the leaves. The pin mechanism and earring clips appear functional. Original patina is preferred by collectors; do not polish. Condition is good for its age. Complete sets (parures) in the original gold wash are highly collectible.
